Accountabilities:
*Supports practitioners in providing direct patient care.
* Rooms and prepares patients for examination and treatment.
* Registers patients for check in
*Administrative duties
* Takes patients brief history and vital signs, documents timely in EHR.
* Maintains efficient patient flow and keeps patients informed of any delays.
* Monitors the patient's condition, recognizes abnormal vital signs, and promptly
reports changes to the practitioner.
* Participates in daily huddles.
* Determines priorities of care and demonstrates flexibility in responding to patient
needs while completing assignments.
* C ompletes all assignments unless otherwise directed by manager/lead.
* Works as a team member in meeting the unit needs.
* Seeks approval for reprioritization of more complex events deviating from original
assignment.
* Performs activities as needed without supervision.
* C leans, stocks and sets up rooms for arriving patients.
*Ensures patient exam rooms are neat and clean.
* Provides emotional support by observing and responding to the emotional needs of
the patient and their support network.
* Maintains log of all equipment sent to C linical Engineering for repair.
* Reports all lost or equipment unable to be repaired to practice manager.
* Keeps equipment clean and charged.
* Adheres to OSHA, Joint C ommission, Board of Health and AH standards. Observes
and maintains isolation precautions.
* Follows hand washing protocol. Maintains a clean and clutter free work environment.
* Uses and stores equipment properly.
* Must work in a fast-paced environment with positive customer service skills.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred:
- 2 years prior experience in an office setting with administrative tasks
* Medical practice or other medical office preferred - Nursing students welcome
* 1-2 years previous patient care experience preferred
* Customer service experience preferred - BLS certification required
* EMT, PC T or CMA certification preferred
